As the first globally distributed business school in the world, Fuqua has a critical relationship with India, but it is not new. Duke has always been a destination of choice for top students from India, and Duke is expanding that footprint with a number of programs in India, including:
Duke Corporate Education (Duke CE) works with the top-ranked Indian Institute of Management Ahmadabad (IIM-A) to develop and deliver custom corporate education programs to organizations throughout India.
Duke Engage provides an opportunity for Duke undergraduates to pursue an immersive service experience while working with NGOs and non-profits across India.
Duke Talent Identification Program (TIP) offered a residential pilot program for academically gifted eighth-grade Indian students.
Duke Medicine, the Duke Global Health Institute, the Nicholas School of the Environment, and the Sanford School of Public Policy are engaged in various research or teaching partnerships with Indian organizations as diverse as the state of Utter Pradesh, the National Institute of Ocean Technology, Jubilant Organosys, and Medicity.
India continues to be a major source for our MBA application pool and represents a significant portion of our student body. Every year Fuqua brings an increasing number of students to India as part of the Global Executive, Cross Continent, and Daytime MBA programs. Also, in 2011, more than 200 Duke MBA students visited India to learn how business was done in one of the world's most vibrant economies.
We continue to rely on our partners, including our India Advisory Board to help guide us through complexities of doing business in the country.
