Arrange an On-Campus Interview Visit

Successful on-campus interviews require considerable advance planning and careful attention to detail. The following information guides you through this process. Your Corporate Account Manager is available to address any questions.

Registered for your Interview already? If so, please download and review the Interview checklist to make sure you have done everything you need to do in order to have successful interviews.

Choose the Preferred Schedule Template

You may choose 30, 45-minute, or 1 hour interviews to best reflect your interviewing process. Refer to the interview template below for examples of for schedule times. Select the Number of Interview Schedules/Rooms

  • Companies can arrange multiple schedules in one or more functional areas.
  • If you would like to reserve an additional room to greet and welcome students, please contact your Corporate Account Manager. Greeter rooms must be reserved in advance and are limited to one per company.

Identify the Preferred Ratio of Closed and Open Slots
Please select from one of the following two options described below:

  • Open schedules = Allow interested students to "bid" for all interview slots.
  • Half-open, half-closed schedules = Signify that 50% of your interview slots are open, as described above. The remaining interview slots are filled by students your company has invited to be on the schedule. This is the preferred ratio for on-campus recruiting.

Upon reserving an on-campus interview date, we will verify the number of open and closed interview slots on your schedule.

Set a Date

Provide Necessary Information Requested by Fuqua

  • Students appreciate company literature to study before the interview.
  • Job descriptions are essential, since many students will not sign up for an interview slot without understanding the position to be discussed.
  • Please provide citizenship requirements. Fuqua has a large number of international students who comply with your posted residency status requirements. If citizenship requirements are not specified, the open slots on your schedule are automatically available to both domestic and international students. If you select US/Permanent Residents only, we will not prohibit international students from applying. We will, however, screen your closed list and contact you about removing internationals.

Student Bidding

Students not invited on the closed list may express interest in interviewing with your company by "bidding" to win a space on your schedule. This bidding process will fill the remaining slots on your interview schedule.

Scheduling Process
Your company's interview schedule is generated on the Monday one week prior to your actual interview date. Because of the complexity in creating schedules for such a large number of students and companies, we adhere stringently to these deadlines each week.

  • A packet containing all resumes is also provided at morning check-in on the interview day.
  • Open and closed slots are distributed randomly throughout your schedule according to student availability.
  • After accessing your schedule on the Wednesday prior to the week of your interview visit, please review it carefully and contact your Account Manager with any questions or concerns. It is important that you do not make any changes to interview times or candidates without first notifying your Account Manager, as this can create major scheduling conflicts.
  • We request that non-Fuqua students not be scheduled for on-campus interviews.

Weekly Deadlines
Please note the following deadlines which will occur one week prior to your interview schedule:

  • Monday at 2 pm: Student deadline to accept closed list invitations and to place bids.
  • Wednesday at 2 pm: Student deadline to drop interviews or swap times in Intranet scheduling system.
  • Wednesday at 5:00 p.m.: Schedules will be posted available on Recruit@Duke for the following week's interviews.
