Welcome to another issue of Fuqua FirstLook, the electronic newsletter we created to benefit Fuqua recruiters and provide you with information about deadlines and upcoming events. We are ready for the 2003-04 year and hope you are too. We encourage you to share this newsletter with all members of your Fuqua recruiting team.

Updating Company Information in the Corporate Interface

The Company Information section of the Corporate Interface is a convenient location for recruiters to review and update
corporate and contact information. The address and contact change information submitted will be sent to the Career Management
Center and reviewed for validation. Once the information has been validated it will then be reflected on the Intranet for students
to view. This section is divided into three parts:

  • Address Information:
    Submit the changes necessary to update records and keep corporate mailing addresses accurate.

  • Contact Information:
    Allows the recruiter to add, edit, and delete contact information.

  • Company Literature:
    Explains the procedure for submitting literature for student review.

Please take a few moments to update your company's contact information on the Corporate Interface to ensure that our Career
Management Center, as well as Fuqua students, have the correct contact information for your company's recruiting representatives.

SIP's Interview Registration Reminder!

The time to start registering for next year's recruiting season is here!
To register for the Fall 2003/Spring 2004 school year, please go to our forms page for the online registration form. If you would like general information about becoming an Equity Partner, please contact Stephen Windham, at 919.660.7710. If you have any other questions regarding the upcoming recruiting season please contact your Account Manager.

We look forward to beginning another successful recruiting season with each of you. If you do not currently have an ID and password for the Corporate Interface, please obtain it from your Account Manager so you can register for 2003-04 SIPs and interviews online. Please contact your Account Manager if you are experiencing difficulties when trying to access the Corporate Interface.

Career Fair Registration

Fuqua's Career Fairs are great opportunities to speak with students and get invaluable face time as you begin the recruiting
season. Detailed information about registration for the 2003 Career Fair will be emailed in May 2003. Please plan on registering
during June 2003. Please contact Adriane Jaynes, ajaynes@duke.edu for more information on Career Fair registration.

Fuqua's Graduating MBAs National Survey

As you may know, for the past fifteen years The Fuqua School of Business has periodically conducted a national survey (The
Fuqua Report) of graduating MBAs from 10 of the top business schools in the United States. This year's study has produced some
interesting results on career plans, job decision strategies, compensation, attitudes and values. It is especially interesting as you
compare it to the results of our previous survey (2000), conducted at the height of the job market and dot.com boom. We wanted
to share these results with you to assist in your recruiting efforts; both surveys can be found at

Tip of the Month

Over the next few weeks we will be sending out SIP and on-campus recruiting confirmations. Please double-check the following
items: date, time, and location of your SIP; number of interview schedules, citizenship requirements, and the job title. If you find
any discrepancies, please contact your Account Manager.
