Fuqua Ranked No. 7 by Business Week
Durham (October 8, 1998)
Duke University's Fuqua School of Business
was ranked No. 7 in Business
Week's
ranking of the best business schools, its highest ranking ever.
"We are obviously gratified by the increase in Fuqua's position in Business Week's
rankings from the No. 11 spot we held when the rankings were last conducted in 1996 to the
No. 7 position this year," said Dean Rex D. Adams. "We take pride in the
excellence of our students, faculty and programs, and we are pleased by this positive
recognition represented by the Business Week rankings."
Corporate recruiters ranked Fuqua No. 2 on the list of the five best career placement
offices. In addition, the 259 companies that responded to Business Week's survey ranked
Fuqua's graduates No. 5 for marketing skills, No. 8 for general management and No. 9 for
finance and technology, respectively. Fuqua ranked No. 10 by students' for overall
satisfaction level with their schools and No. 7 by corporate recruiters' for overall
quality and the success rate of graduates within their organizations.
"We are particularly proud of the strong improvement in our School's ranking with
corporate recruiters," continued Adams. "These findings correspond very well
with what so many of our companies have told us as a result of their involvement in the
recruiting process with Fuqua students.
"I can assure you that we remain confident about the quality of what we have achieved
here, and we intend to continue to strengthen our efforts to build a truly great business
school at Duke University." |
