DURHAM, N.C. -- Jean Eisel has been named director of The Fuqua School of Business’ Career Management Center by Dean Douglas T. Breeden.

"Jean is one of the most experienced and respected professionals in the field," said Breeden. "She will be a great asset both to our students and our alumni."

Eisel will lead and manage the career planning, counseling, recruitment and employment of Fuqua’s MBA students and alumni, while simultaneously developing programs and activities to maintain and enhance Fuqua’s presence as a top-tier business school worldwide. She will start work Feb. 17.

"The staff and I will do everything we can to assist students in reaching their career goals in these complicated economic times," said Eisel. "I look forward to meeting many of the students and listening to how we can partner to enhance the already excellent services that are being provided."

Eisel comes to Fuqua from Carnegie Mellon University where she was employed for nine years as associate dean of admissions and career opportunities. Under her leadership, Business Week ranked Carnegie Mellon’s career office No. 5 in the country in 1996. Further, The Wall Street Journal has ranked Carnegie Mellon’s business school in the top three for two years. Before coming to Carnegie Mellon, Eisel was director of career services at Arizona State University. Prior to that, she worked at Ohio State University, where she also earned her Ph.D. in 1993. In addition, she received her B.A. in mathematics from the College of St. Francis and her M.Ed. in counseling psychology from Boston College.

The Fuqua School of Business, founded in 1969, offers its MBA degree in four formats. The Duke MBA-Daytime is the school's flagship program; the other non-residential executive MBA options include The Duke MBA-Cross Continent, The Duke MBA-Global Executive and The Duke MBA-Weekend Executive. Fuqua also offers non-degree executive education.
