| U.S. News & World Report has released its annual
rankings of America’s best graduate schools and The Fuqua
School of Business’ daytime program is ranked number 7. Its
executive MBA programs ranked No. 5 in the United States.
Says Dean Doug Breeden, “this #7 ranking is the second highest
in the 33-year history of the Fuqua School in U.S. News & World
Report, arguably the most reputable ranking for graduate schools.
This is great news and a huge compliment to the entire Team Fuqua!”
Graduate program rankings are in the areas of business, education,
engineering, law, and medicine. The rankings are based on expert
opinion data about overall program quality and statistical indicators
that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and
students.
The statistical indicators measure the qualities that students
and faculty bring to the educational experience as well as academic
quality of the curriculum. In the business school category, job
placement data is also a key factor, with particular attention being
given to the immediate impact of students’ education, namely
their starting salaries after graduation and the length of time
it takes to find jobs.
Other factors are the results of opinion surveys conducted with
nearly 7,000 academic peers on 1,000 schools and corporate recruiters.
Average GPA scores, GMAT scores and acceptance rates are also examined.
Fuqua’s executive MBA programs fared extremely well, Breeden
said, and are important because of their prominence at the school.
While all the rankings are significant to admissions recruiting
and other efforts, Dean Breeden adds that they “are only a
snapshot of what a limited number of people think of us. To us,
Fuqua is much more than that, and we are well on our way to being
the best business school in the world.”
