MANAGEMT 741 - Sports Business

Course Description

The fundamental purpose of this class is to provide students with an understanding of how to apply the principles of business and/or the elements of organization to sport.  Over 12 sessions, students will have the opportunity to explore basic theories of leadership, human resource management, politics, finance, marketing, resource acquisition (fundraising and corporate support), sports law, broadcast properties, media and publicity, future trends in facilities as well as philosophical, sociological and cultural considerations of sport.
