Happy Birthday!
October 22, 2009
Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (October 22), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:
Angel Gavieiro, Daytime MBA 2002
In London now for five years, where I am enjoying life with my lovely Isabel. My now 4-year old son, Diego, was born here. When asked about where is he from, he answers, "Spanish from London." I am working in banking and strategy, which I enjoy, for Lloyds Banking Group, and was recently appointed head of strategy for corporate banking. I also manage to stay in close touch with our cherished Duke MBA.
Anne Hooper, MHA 1991
My family and I relocated five years ago from the Raleigh-Durham area to Northern Virginia, where I head up Inova Health System's service excellence program.
William Johnson, Weekend MBA 1994
I am currently serving as Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement and Director of Development at Gustavus Adolphus College in St. Peter, MN.
Amit Nagpal, Daytime MBA 2007
I moved to Houston after graduation. Currently, I am working for Jefferies in Energy Investment Banking. On the personal front, my little girl is now 18 months, and it is fun to watch her grow.
Armando Nogueira, Daytime MBA 2002
I am on a sabbatical leave travelling around the world with my wife. Right now, I am in Tibet, China, coming back from the base camp of Everest.
Dan Rellis, Cross Continent MBA 2002
I am currently in Elkton, MD, with my wife, Carey, and our two sons, Cooper and Caleb. I am developing new technology and business opportunities for W.L. Gore & Associates.
Anna Rips, Daytime MBA 2005
I'm living in NYC with my husband, and we're expecting our first child in November. I'm an attorney with Skadden Arps, representing hedge funds and private equity funds.
Kevin Ruhl, Daytime MBA 1997
I am in Atlanta still with Deloitte, living with my wife, Susan, and two kids - plus one more due in January!
Andrew Waine, Daytime MBA 1993
Living in Riverside, CT, trying to ensure that I'm counted in the "subprime crisis survivor" category.
Wanji Williams, Daytime MBA 2004
I am married and live just south of Nashville, and I am currently having a blast working in the auto industry, which was my childhood dream.
