Happy Birthday!

December 15, 2010

Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (December 16), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:

Will Arrington, MMS:FoB 2010
I started work in Cary this summer after graduating and backpacking through Colombia.  I am in product management for the mobile division of Bandwidth.com and love every minute of it.  We sell mobile phone and data service to small and medium businesses and always have a lot of fun in the process.  We are launching new products all of the time so things have been busy from day one.

Joseph Evans, Cross Continent MBA 2008
I am currently living in Raleigh, NC, with my wife (Tahesha), son (Christian, age 2) and soon to be son #2 (Alexander, expected delivery date 12/21/10).  I am still employed with Underwriters Laboratories but recently switched from managing an engineer department to our lean sigma operations as a black belt.  My new role provides me with greater exposure to our global company and allows me to serve as an "advisor" to all levels of management.  I am truly looking forward to all of the opportunities the future holds and hoping to take full advantage of each and every one of them.  If any of my classmates or fellow alumni would like to contact me, you can do so at Joseph.C.Evans@us.ul.com.

Stephen Fusi, Daytime MBA 2006
I am a new transplant to the Atlanta suburbs, along with Lakeisha, Alexander (6) and Sophia (3).  We are enjoying the relatively mild winter here after four years in Cincinnati.  I now work with C. R. Bard in medical device marketing, looking for new markets to enter and new products to develop.  Talking to doctors and nurses is a big change from CPG but I am growing into it!

Chetan Goyal, Daytime MBA 2004
My wife, Alicia, and I live in St. Louis, Missouri. Since graduating from Fuqua I have been with Anheuser-Busch InBev in a variety of finance roles.

Kirsten Green, MMS: FoB 2010
I moved to San Francisco six months ago after graduating from Fuqua, and am working in management at a fantastic workforce development nonprofit. San Francisco is certainly a departure from the small-town life I'm used to, but it's an amazing city and I've loved exploring it with new—and a few old—friends. I'm definitely looking forward to the coming year here.

Sheri Hebbeln, Daytime MBA 1987
I live in Napa, CA, with my husband and two kids, Rachel and Jake (now 19 and 17).  Life in Napa is wonderful.  I'm working for a startup that provides technology and services to the wine industry and am loving every minute of it.  We've just sent our daughter off for her first year at UCLA, where she's already declared Astrophysics as her major.  Now we're preparing to start the college application process all over again with Jake.

Bhawna Johar, Daytime MBA 2007
I am currently in New York City enjoying the vibrancy of the big city. I am working for New York Life, developing marketing strategy for the full line of investment management and life insurance products sold through our dedicated career agent sales force.

Marlon Mathews, Daytime MBA 2005
I live in Union, NJ, and am still working at Citigroup in NYC.  I started in our Corporate and Investment Banking Group, but made the switch to Risk Management in 2008. I have managed to stay in touch with several of my classmates, and we get together periodically.

Nisha Merchant, Daytime MBA 2005
I live in Walton on Thames, in the United Kingdom. I manage Bausch + Lomb's OTC portfolio for the United Kingdom, Republic of Ireland, and the Nordic countries. My brands include several OTC medicines, medical devices, and nutraceuticals. nisha.merchant@fuqua.duke.edu; +44 7525053890.

Keisha Newell, Daytime MBA 2004
I finally made it back to South Florida and am loving it.  I live and work in downtown Miami Beach, where it's a sunny 80 degrees right now.  I work for ADP TotalSource, a professional employer organization (PEO) as the Director of Retirement Services and looking forward to my own retirement….in 30 years!
