Happy Birthday!
June 15, 2011
Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (June 16), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:
Kimberly Radford Henderson, Daytime MBA 2008
Currently living in New York City.
Suhas Jakkaraju, Cross Continent MBA 2009
I live in Ventura, CA, working as a VP, Operations & Marketing for The EZ Street Gallery. I am also a business strategy consultant for small/medium-sized businesses.
Kelly Leonard, Cross Continent MBA 2005
The economic downturn does not discriminate against Duke graduates. After being unemployed over six months, I spend my time networking and researching entrepreneurial opportunities. I'm also using my time to catch up with fellow alumni, travel, and road bike. kelly.leonard@gmail.com
Lisa Mirman, Daytime MBA 1996
Right now I am living in Sarasota, FL, home of Siesta Key Beach which was just recognized as the #1 beach in the country by Dr Beach! This summer I am taking a short sabbatical from our two businesses to be on staff at a wilderness tripping camp in Vermont, the same camp my husband attended throughout his youth and where our two children will also attend this summer. My husband, Lee (Fuqua '95), and I own a residential real estate brokerage in Sarasota. We also operate Global Housing Solutions, where we are currently partnered with the Costa Rican government and the Peace Corps in Costa Rica to develop and deliver social housing to the working poor.
Omkarnath Munipalle, Daytime MBA 2008
I am currently based out of the San Francisco Bay area and work with HCL America Inc. in business development.
Sandeep Sharma, Weekend Executive MBA 2001
I am happily settled in Bangalore, India, with my wife, Supriya; two children, Kunaal (13) and Devika (10); and 2-year old pug, Cheerio. I lead the sales effort for Oracle Communications in the Asia region and am usually traveling to most Asia-Pacific countries. I welcome the opportunity to meet Duke alumni in India or elsewhere in the region.
Pamela Shavers, Daytime MBA 1995
I currently work for IBM as a consultant working with Federal government clients in the National Security area specializing in strategy, marketing, communications and process redesign work for them. I live in Northern Virginia (Gainesville, VA) with my 9-year-old daughter, Olivia Bowles, and her 2-year-old dog, Annie.
David Shick, Global Executive MBA 2000
Wow. Time flies. In the past 11 years, I have been working in Singapore, Taiwan and now have settled in Hong Kong. I am back to private banking, traveling as usual to China and the rest of Asia.
Jason Shields, Daytime MBA 2005
Becky and I are living in Cincinnati with our daughter, Stella, and another on the way. Since graduation I have been working for Johnson & Johnson's Ethicon Endo-Surgery, still going strong six years later and counting.
Caveni Wong, Daytime MBA 2002
I've been living in New York City since graduation in 2002. I'm currently a consultant for corporate ethics and compliance programs, helping companies build and sustain an ethical and law-abiding culture.
