Hire MMS Students for a "Winternship"
October 18, 2011
Fuqua's Career Management Center would like to invite you and your company to participate in an upcoming opportunity to engage and support students in our Master of Management Studies (MMS): Foundations of Business program. Taught by the same world-class professors who teach Fuqua MBA students, the 10-month Master of Management Studies (MMS) program is a jumpstart into the business world and provides students with the business skills needed to hit the ground running within an organization. To learn more about this program, see brief overview of this year's MMS program and class.
Many MMS students are available during their winter break from December 16 to January 19 to participate in a winter internship ("winternship"). As these students can add significant value to your organization during this time, we encourage you to consider engaging them in an entry-level business professional winternship project. From marketing to finance to research to analysis, MMS students have a broad range of fundamental business skills. Project opportunities can vary in length from 1-5 weeks, and some projects may continue throughout the school year, depending on the student's availability. A winternship gives you the chance to see what these talented students can do while providing your organization with free or low-cost assistance on specific projects. Students are also allowed to work on projects remotely if it fits your company's needs. The final date to submit your winternship description is Wednesday, November 9.
If your organization has one or more winternship projects with which an MMS student can assist, we are happy to facilitate the process of posting these positions to the MMS students. Please e-mail your job description(s) to Mary Elizabeth Seay at maryelizabeth.seay@duke.edu or contact her at +1.919.660.8097 to discuss.
