Happy Birthday!
November 16, 2011
Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (November 17), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:
Nick Ryan Bradley, MMS 2010
I'm surprisingly living in Durham after a brief stint in New York City and enjoying being back in the area. I now work in trends and futures consulting at The Futures Company in Chapel Hill with a couple fellow Fuqua alumni. I'm loving the job and being back in North Carolina.
Steve Brown, Daytime MBA 2009
I'm working for Microsoft as a Product Manager in Redmond, WA. It's been an especially wonderful year as Jennifer (Scott) Brown, also class of '09, and I had the honor of many of our Fuqua classmates joining us for our wedding in August.
Evan Davis, Daytime MBA 1992
I've been CFO & COO of MRI Network in Philadelphia for four years after 13 years with Yum Brands in Dallas & Toronto with my last role as CFO & VP Development. Wendy and I have four children: Graham, Caroline, and twin boys Clark and Stuart.
AnaRita Eason, Weekend Executive MBA 1997
I am Program Director, System x Performance and Solutions Development at IBM. I am married with two sons in college (NC State and UNC). My latest hobby is racing triathlons.
James Emery, Daytime MBA 1995, PHD 2006
I am currently right here at The Fuqua School of Business, where I wear two hats. One is as an adjunct assistant professor in the management department and the other as research director for the Fuqua/Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics (COLE). I hope anyone returning to Fuqua will feel free to reach out to me at james.emery@duke.edu, and if your organization has an interest in either Fuqua's consulting practicum courses or our leadership research, I would particularly enjoy the opportunity to discuss these with you.
Jen McLin, Daytime MBA 1997
I live in Lausanne, Switzerland, where I have been for the last 11 years. While here I have worked for two of the largest, international environmental NGOs helping them to develop corporate partnerships in support of their missions. I have two children, Liam (8) and Tessa (4). Both are being raised bilingual, French-English.
Stuart Morrow, Daytime MBA 1987
After 20 years in Fort Worth, TX, with Burlington Northern and PricewaterhouseCoopers, I have returned to Seattle where I grew up. In 2007, I acquired North Coast Allied and am a domestic and international agent for Allied van lines for the Northwest. My wife, Mary, and I have two children: Katie, who is a senior at Duke, and Michael, who is a sophomore at the University of Puget Sound (our alma mater). We look forward to hearing from any classmates coming to the Seattle area.
Matt Pados, Daytime MBA 2009
I'm living in Boston with my wife and our twin son and daughter, who will be a year old in December. Since graduation, I've been working for Hancock Capital Management, a firm that provides capital to private, middle-market companies and to private equity funds.
Brian Rakowski, Daytime MBA 2007
I recently relocated to Sao Paulo, Brazil, with Kraft Foods to work as the regional Marketing Director for our cracker brands in Latin America. Although I'm not able to speak Portuguese very well (read: at all), it shouldn't be an issue by the time the World Cup and Olympics roll into town!
Marc Ruhnow, Duke Goethe MBA 2010
After graduation in 2010, I continued to work for Accenture in Germany working in the IT consulting area. Currently I am leading a large organizational transformation program with teams around the world, helping my client to keep up its growth rates. I am living close to Frankfurt enjoying mountain biking and hiking.
Julie Streng, Daytime MBA 2000
I live in Greensboro, NC, with my husband, Colin, and two daughters, Marie (8) and Stella (4). I stay at home with my kids, help in their classrooms, and coach the middle school golf team.
