Happy Birthday!
June 20, 2012
Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (June 21), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:
Kurt Akers, Cross Continent MBA 2004
I'm the Deputy Chief Investment Officer and founding partner of Global Forest Partners, a private equity firm focused on timberland with ~$3 billion in assets under management.
Joel Finley, Daytime MBA 2012
I'm currently celebrating my birthday and recent graduation in Greece and will be moving to Dallas, TX, soon to start work at BCG.
Julie Golding, Cross Continent MBA 2008
I live in Seattle, WA, and work at Microsoft as a Marketing Manager for the US Partner group. I just had my second baby in April-another boy-and am enjoying the Seattle summer. I am still running and training for marathons, only now it is usually while pushing a stroller.
John N. Hudson, Daytime MBA 1992
I am currently Director of CEA Global Education in Buenos Aires, Argentina, hosting students from U.S. universities. I live with my wife, Sally, and four children in the BA ´burbs.
Bill Kraus, Daytime MBA 1991
I'm in Scottsdale, AZ, since 2005 working for GE Capital. I've been married for 21 years and have four children. Go Duke!
Amy (Murnick) McKeag, Daytime MBA 2006, Trinity 1998
Mark and I are still happily in Boston, MA. I recently started working for Welch's as a Brand Manager of Innovation. I'm really enjoying learning about juice and jelly consumers and developing new products to better fit their needs.
Claudia F. (Matarese) Metcalf, Daytime MBA 1995
I'm living in the "country" in New Jersey with my husband and two boys. I am a soccer mom, a baseball mom, etc. I spend my days working at Merck Consumer Care marketing and commercializing OTC products.
Bruce Andrew "Andy" Rose, Daytime MBA 1996
I'm the CFO of Worthington Industries, Inc. ("WOR"), a metals manufacturing company based in Columbus, OH, with market leading positions in steel processing, pressure cylinders, engineered cabs for heavy equipment and suspension ceilings.
Michael Williams, Weekend Executive MBA 2003
Since Duke, I have earned a graduate degree from Harvard University in management science. Currently, I am CEO of a health system near Austin, TX. Also, I have started a health care technology company which addresses issues related to the health care reform. Our start-up is now in multiple states and doing well.
