Happy Birthday!
November 14, 2012
Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (November 15), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:
Cameron Arrington, Daytime MBA 2004
I am in Brooklyn, NY, working at Goldman Sachs in High Yield Sales. I have a wife, Indhira, and a son, Jackson. I miss Fuqua. At the moment I received this email I was speaking with one of my clients, Elizabeth Cassidy, who is another '04 Fuqua Alum. She is a PM at Driehaus Capital. What a coincidence!
Kirsten Conrad, Daytime MBA 1988
I'm in Singapore and working on wildlife trade issues throughout the region. My primary interest is CITES Appendix listings, the reaction of the illegal market, breeding programs, and how they interact. Trade prohibition is not working, and there must be a better way.
Brian Fay, Daytime MBA 1986
The Fays, three kids and wife Patricia, currently reside in Shrewsbury, MA. I am employed as Financial Controller at BNY Mellon in their Asset Servicing Group. I met with fellow Fuqua grads and Dean Boulding in Boston several weeks ago and am looking forward to the next reunion.
John Marshall, Daytime MBA 1987
I am living with my family (wife Rebecca and our three young children, Luke, Kate and Will) in N. Atlanta working as Head of School at Mount Pisgah Christian School in Johns Creek, GA. We are an early childcare through grade 12 college preparatory school of roughly 1,000 students. After several years in corporate marketing after graduating from Fuqua in '87, I began a career as an independent school administrator where I have worked for the past 20 years for schools in Houston, St. Louis, Tulsa and N. Georgia. It was great to see old friends on campus at our 25th reunion last spring!
Lt. Christopher McCurry, USN, Daytime MBA 2008
I am currently Chief Engineer onboard USS SHOUP (DDG 86), an Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer homeported in Everett, WA. My wife Cortney, daughter Zoe, son Hagen, and I are looking forward to our transfer early next year to San Diego, CA, where I will be the First Lieutenant onboard USS ESSEX (LHD 2), a large amphibious assault ship. We hope to retire from the Navy in just a few short years and rejoin my classmates in the civilian work force.
Kris Olinger, Daytime MBA 1997
I live in Southern California so I can spend most of my free time outdoors enjoying great weather. Unfortunately, to make a living as a management consultant I must travel a fair amount. I always look forward to weekends and Duke basketball games.
Nina Sprinkle, Daytime MBA 2006
Since graduating Fuqua, my husband and I moved to Charlotte, NC, and have been blessed with three beautiful children, Charlie (4), Carmen (2), and Priya (2). I also continue to work full-time in Bank of America Merrill Lynch's Leveraged Finance group.
Atsushi Suzuki, Daytime MBA 1995
I am now living and working in Tokyo and committed to empower this country through a reform of the public education system. I miss Durham and Duke, hoping to make a sentimental journey with my wife in the not-so-distant future!
Dave Wiley, Daytime MBA 1982
I am living in Fort Worth, TX, and do expert witness consulting in the investment securities field. I also work with various certifications including CFA, FRM and CAIA helping with content. I spend summers in Whitefish, MT. Best wishes to all my classmates.
