Happy Birthday!

December 19, 2012

Each month, FuquaNet recognizes the alumni whose birthdays fall on the issue's publication date. We asked the alumni celebrating a birthday today (December 20), "Where are you now?" Here's what they said:

Sally Dimond, MHA 1984
I recently moved from a large hospital system in Phoenix, AZ, to become the Vice President for Clinical Services for Matrix Medical Network in Scottsdale, AZ.  In addition, I am currently enrolled in a certification program for executive coaching.  Assisting people through change in the health care industry is certainly an opportunity.

Ohad Hagai, Daytime MBA 2012
I live in Chicago, IL, and work for Sears Holdings as part of the Senior Leadership Program.

Oshri Hakak, MMS 2010
I'm working on developing and sharing my artwork, much of which can be viewed at www.LivingInkFlow.com. This is a conduit for my experiences and education in psychology, management, and the arts.

Rick Kanemasu, Daytime MBA 1993
I moved to Atlanta, GA, after graduation and started my career in consulting.  I'm still in Atlanta and still consulting, just on my own. Currently, I'm doing strategy work for Coca-Cola in the mobile commerce space.  My wife, Carol, and I have been married 15 years, and we have two kids:  Avery (11) and Reid (8).

Marcel Lingenhag, Daytime MBA 2000
Just like Fuqua, we are a truly international family and lived and worked on three continents since graduation in 2000. In total, our four head family holds 8 passports, and I am the only one with a single passport. Both our children speak English (family tongue), Chinese (mother tongue) and some German (father tongue) fluently. Currently, we are living in Suzhou, China (about 80 kilometers west of Shanghai), and I am responsible for the Grain Logistics Business Unit in Asia for Buhler AG, Switzerland.

Harold L. Mann Jr., Daytime MBA 2012
I am in Atlanta, GA, working at Delta Air Lines in their Commercial Strategy MBA program.  My current assignment entails overseeing our markets in Arizona, Colorado, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.  I decide where we fly, how often we fly, when we fly, and which aircraft we use, which is quite fascinating.  When I'm not working, I leverage my free travel benefits and jet-set or hang out with Gabe "The Babe" Rodrigues (Daytime MBA 2012) in the ATL.

Tatsuya Niioka, Daytime MBA 1997
I am in Nagoya, Japan.  I just founded my own company, "New Metal Technologies, Inc.," that focuses on engineering service to make better quality irons, copper and aluminum and to make dissimilar metal welding possible.

Deep Purkayastha, Cross Continent MBA 2011
I live in London with my wonderful wife. After completing my MBA, I made an internal move within JP Morgan to support all our M&A and product bankers within IB and commercial bank supporting them with their mobile and technology needs. Through my Duke MBA, I made some great friends and had a wonderful international learning experience.

Gwynne Rogers, Daytime MBA 2002, MEM 2002
I live in Portland, OR, with my husband, Will Villota.  We were married in September.  I provide consumer insight to companies marketing sustainable products, and enjoy helping companies be profitable and green at the same time.

Monica Talley, MMS 2010
I currently live in Charlotte, NC, and work for Wells Fargo Securities in Debt Capital Markets.

Yann Thefaine, Daytime MBA 2009
I am now working in London, UK, as Business Director, Business Planning for Mindshare, an advertising agency that is part of WPP.  My wife and I are also the proud parents of a boy named Kian (5 mos.). Cheers and hi to the Duke community.
