From well known Tuscany to hidden gems that we can discover together, Italian wines offer an incredible variety and depth of taste. Come find out for yourself. Experience the fine wines of Italy at Murphy's in the Virginia Highlands during an evening of wine-tasting and conversation with fellow alumni. Beth Rubenstein Nowak, CSW (certified specialist of wine), Daytime '00, who is now at Opici Wines will be there to educate us on the nuances of the region's many varietals. Beth has worked in the wine industry on the sales/market management side since 1993. Prior to Opici, she worked with Gallo, Robert Mondavi Winery, Chalone Wine Estates, and most recently Diageo Chateau & Estates.

As an extension of Fuqua Career Management Center's participation in the Southeastern MBA Interview Forum for current students, we also have an opportunity to offer a career session titled 'The 90 Minute Job Search,' based upon the book currently in development by Steve Dalton, 2004 Fuqua Graduate and Associate Director of the Career Management Center. Mr. Dalton developed this system (called the Dalton Method) by drawing on his experiences as a strategy & operations consultant for A.T. Kearney, a marketer for General Mills, a career coach, and a Duke MBA student.

Notes

The event is hosted by Duke's Fuqua School of Business, UNC's Kenan-Flagler Business School, Vanderbilt's Owen Graduate School of Management, UVA's Darden School of Business, and Emory's Goizueta Business School. Space is limited and registration is open on a first-come, first-serve basis to individuals from all participating schools.

Since 1996, CCT has been recruiting volunteer Atlanta-area MBAs and business professionals and matching them with local organizations with business and management challenges. Each year, we recruit more than 100 MBAs and business professionals, and assign teams to approximately 20 non-profit organizations. To date, CCT teams have completed more than 120 projects in just about any area of business and management consulting, including growth strategies, marketing plans, operational planning, process reengineering, organizational and human resources planning and development. Are you interested in using your business and consulting skills to give back to the community? CCT gives you an opportunity to meet new people, work as a team with like-minded professionals, and help enhance the effectiveness of Atlanta?s not-for profit community. And you help them by using your business skills directly?providing them with an incredibly valuable resource.

We are looking for volunteers to help coordinate social and career development events for Atlanta. Volunteers can help coordinate one event or multiple events.

Get Involved

There are a number of ways to get involved with Fuqua Alumni Club of Atlanta:

  1. Make sure your contact information is up to date in the alumni directory .  In order to receive information via e-mail about activities in your region, your contact information must be current. Fuqua alumni are invited to club activities based on their city of residence or employment. Are you only planning to be in Atlanta temporarily? E-mail the Alumni Relations office , and we can make sure you are on the club's e-mail distribution list. 
  2. Offer to host an alumni event at your business, home, or work place.  
  3. Get involved with club leadership.  
  4. Suggest events and ideas for activities you'd like to see in your city.
  5. Recommend a personal or professional speaker or make a presentation yourself.
