Description
Fuqua alumni are invited to a DukeGEN happy hour at 3rd Coast Cafe & Wine Bar. The DukeGEN happy hour is an informal semi-annual networking event to connect the entrepreneurial community of Duke University alumni, parents, and students in Chicago.

Description
Duke Alums Engage is a new program being launched by the Duke Alumni Association in 20 cities. Learn the principles of service learning through this nationwide program that will take community service to a new level.
Notes
The Duke Club of Chicago has decided to help the Alliance for the Great Lakes as part of this year's Duke Engage program. Duke volunteers will adopt Montrose Beach on November 7th from 1-4pm. The group will help make positive changes for the Great Lakes by observing conditions, taking a few water quality readings and picking up trash and litter on the shore.

Our group seized an opportunity to help start a mobile food pantry project in partnership with the Greater Chicago Food Depository (GCFD), Ravenswood Community Services Center and Ravenswood public elementary school (see attachment for more details). Our part is to provide volunteers on the second Saturday of every month, and we would like to invite you to help make the initiative a success.

Schedule 8:15 - 8:30 a.m. Truck arrives and set-up volunteers help glean produce and pack groceries. 9 a.m. Distribution of groceries begins 10 - 11 a.m. Distribution ends and break-down and clean up begins 11:30 a.m. Operation ends Since 8:15am might be early for the out-of-towners, we invite you to arrive at later times if you must.

There are a number of ways to get involved with Fuqua Alumni Club of Chicago:
- Make sure your contact information is up to date in the alumni directory . In order to receive information via e-mail about activities in your region, your contact information must be current. Fuqua alumni are invited to club activities based on their city of residence or employment. Are you only planning to be in Chicago temporarily? E-mail the Alumni Relations office , and we can make sure you are on the club's e-mail distribution list.
- Offer to host an alumni event at your business, home, or work place.
- Get involved with club leadership.
- Suggest events and ideas for activities you'd like to see in your city.
- Recommend a personal or professional speaker or make a presentation yourself.
