Health Sector Management Alumni Certificate Program Available to Daytime and EMBA Alumni

The Health Sector Management (HSM) program continues Fuqua’s tradition of lifelong learning through the HSM Alumni Certificate Program. For alumni who are currently working in the health care sector, or who are considering a career change, the HSM program offers a comprehensive approach to the “business of health care.” Alumni will enroll in classes with HSM Weekend and Global Executive MBA students, either remotely or in person, thereby broadening both personal and professional networks.
“I've been working in the field of medical and surgical devices for fifteen years. Duke’s Health Sector Management (HSM) program has allowed me to discuss a wide variety of industry topics with my classmates who have very different backgrounds and perspectives. HSM has enabled me to evaluate Teleflex Medical's products and services through the eyes of a variety of stakeholders.
The HSM curriculum provides opportunities to deliberate hospital pricing strategies, or global health care tourism, and other current industry issues with physicians, pharmacy managers, reimbursement specialists and senior managers from pharmaceutical and device companies. Classroom lectures provide a perspective on the fundamental building blocks of the U.S. health care system. It is exciting to hear a variety of presentations from hospital CEOs, Duke's own medical staff, and health care consultants from Washington.
