"Leading in Challenging Times: Overcoming Crisis, Sustaining Excellence, and Growing Intelligently"
The Seventh Annual Fuqua School of Business & Coach K Leadership Conference
(03/08)
Our increasingly complex world poses new and different leadership challenges than those faced by our predecessors. Because of the global market, political context, and the speed at which business moves, today's leaders face a myriad of issues. These include internally inherited or externally generated crises; new competitors, customers, and vendors; and a dramatically different workforce dynamic.
The Fuqua/Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics (COLE) invites you to examine these leadership challenges at the seventh annual Fuqua School of Business & Coach K Leadership Conference, October 20-22, 2008.
The program is designed to:
- Enhance your leadership skills
- Provide thoughtful insights from more than twenty C-suite leaders from diverse industries and functional backgrounds
- Allow opportunities to network with senior-level executives and colleagues, learning side-by-side in interactive keynote, plenary and breakout sessions moderated by Duke faculty and scholars
- Provide a dynamic learning environment for leaders and leaders-to-be
The conference will explore the theme "Leading in Challenging Times: Overcoming Crisis, Sustaining Excellence, and Growing Intelligently" and present new perspectives on leading in challenging times.
Confirmed speakers include: William C. Weldon, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Johnson & Johnson; Biggs Porter, Chief Financial Officer, Tenet Healthcare; Janet Hill, Vice President, Alexander & Associates, Inc.; and Ryan Allis, Founder, iContact.
More than 300 participants attend the conference each year from diverse industry and functional backgrounds, and attendance is capped to maximize interactivity with a high ratio of speakers to participants. Our sixth leadership conference (October 15-17, 2007) received wonderful reviews. Participants, many of whom cited educational value as the key draw to the conference, ranked it as one of the most educational and professional conferences of its kind. The conference continues to grow and receive recognition as a valuable educational tool for leaders and leaders-to-be, and continues to enhance Fuqua and Duke’s reputation as the place to come for leadership and ethics education and research. Panel and keynotes sessions of previous conferences are available for download via Fuqua iTunes (http://www.fuqua.duke.edu/itunes/). The sessions of the 2007 conference will be available soon.
We continue to offer a special rate for groups of four or more. In addition, companies that send five or more participants to the conference are acknowledged as Alliance Partners. Alliance Partners receive special recognition within the conference attendee pack, as well as on the conference web site.
