New Faces in Development and Alumni Relations

The Development and Alumni Relations office is proud to introduce to you four new members of our team who will be interacting with alumni around the world in a variety of different ways. They are:

Kim Amidon, Staff Assistant, Alumni Relations
Kim joined the Alumni Relations team in June 2008 and will be working with our class communications chairs to collect news and notes from alumni for publication online and in the alumni magazine. Kim previously worked as an office assistant and as a medical receptionist in Chicago and Cape Canaveral, Florida, respectively. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in English with a minor in advertising from Flagler College in St. Augustine, Florida.

Karin Douglas, Associate Director, Regional Gifts
Karin joined the Regional Gifts team in the spring and has been traveling throughout the country to raise funds for a variety of initiatives at Fuqua. Karin has worked for the past fifteen years to develop programs and secure financial support for a number of nonprofit institutions, including the Children's Defense Fund, the Frank Porter Graham Child Development Institute at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, and Davidson College. Her work with nonprofit organizations also includes program development and community outreach responsibilities at The Adolescent Pregnancy Prevention Coalition of North Carolina, the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation-funded national Fighting Back initiative, and Communities In Schools of Charlotte-Mecklenburg.

Reid Ricciardi, Associate Director, Regional Gifts
Reid is the newest addition to the Development and Alumni Relations team and will be traveling throughout the country to raise funds in support of Fuqua's programs. Originally from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Reid received his Bachelor of Arts degree in political science from Purdue University in 1994. He began his institutional advancement career at Suffield Academy, a prep school in Connecticut, followed by three years at Culver Academies in Culver, Indiana, where he ran the school’s annual fund. Reid and his wife, Julie, returned to Purdue in 1999 where he filled various roles from donor stewardship to reunion giving and ultimately served five years as the Director of Development for Student Services. In his free time, Reid enjoys traveling, cooking, golf and training for triathlons.

Katie Thomasson, Associate Director, Alumni Relations
Katie joined the Alumni Relations team in July 2008 and will be working with our regional alumni clubs to connect alumni around the world, bringing them engaging and informative programming. Katie comes to us from George Mason University, where she was Associate Director in the Office of Alumni Affairs. She also has experience as Coordinator of Volunteer Services for the Arlington-Alexandria Coalition for the Homeless. She has a Master of Public Administration degree and certificate in non-profit management from George Mason and an undergraduate degree in marketing management from Virginia Tech.
