Rising Fuel Costs Spur Companies to Embrace Green Solutions
photo of light bulbEighty percent of chief financial officers in the U.S. say the high price of oil is negatively affecting their firms, with 61 percent describing the effects as "significant." "We may be reaching a tipping point on the cost of traditional fuels," said John Graham, professor of finance at Fuqua. "We're seeing more companies embrace 'green' initiatives and position themselves to become less reliant on oil in the future." read more »

To the Clouds, with Reservations
photo of cloudsThe shift toward cloud computing will continue to gain momentum in the coming years, despite concerns about security, integration with existing systems and functionality. Nearly half of U.S. firms are already using cloud computing, while 76 percent say they will rely on cloud computing for IT activities in the next 3-5 years. "The practical advantages of cloud computing are winning out over the potential drawbacks of dealing with a still developing technology," said John Graham, professor of finance at Fuqua. "Companies appear to be embracing cloud computing as a new IT paradigm." read more »
