Fuqua Launches Classes on Two Continents
August and September are a bustle of excitement as classes begin for three of Fuqua’s programs. The difference this year? Our class kick-offs span the globe! As you read this, 119 students in Fuqua’s newly redesigned Cross Continent MBA program are recovering from their Financial Accounting exam—in London. The past two weeks have seen Fuqua's global strategy come to life.
On Monday, we welcome our first class of students in the Master of Management Studies: Foundations of Business program. One hundred recent graduates with a plethora of academic backgrounds will prepare for entry into the business world in this one-year program.
The 447 members of the Daytime MBA Class of 2011 have been on campus since early August, and students are completing their exams in the Global Institute this week. The Class of 2010 will join them on campus next week as they kick off the Integrative Leadership Experience (ILE-2).
Please join us in welcoming these students to Team Fuqua! |

Faculty Research
The Company You Keep Influences How Much You Eat
Thin friends who eat a lot could put your waistline in danger. That's the warning from researchers studying how other people's weight and food choices influence how much we eat. Professor Gavan Fitzsimons, along with researchers from the University of British Columbia and Arizona State University, used snack foods, an obesity prosthesis, and the ruse of a study related to movies to track how students' food consumption was influenced by a companion. Their findings will appear online this week in the Journal of Consumer Research. read more » |

Executive recruiters and hiring managers regularly "Google" candidates and make decisions based on the information found before they even consider talking with you. One key to getting noticed is to proactively take charge of your online identity. Candidates must establish their own online brand, building a career network that boosts credibility and positions them as an expert in their field. read more » |
