CFOs: No Double-Dip Recession
Chief financial officers don't foresee a double-dip recession, but doubts about the strength of the economy have pessimists outnumbering optimists by more than five to one in the United States. Business spending is expected to grow, though more slowly than last quarter, and hiring will continue at a sluggish pace. These are some of the findings of the most recent Duke University/CFO Magazine Global Business Outlook Survey. read more » |

CMO Survey: Marketers to Significantly Increase Their Investment in Social Media
Leading marketing executives are increasingly relying on social media in their overall marketing strategies, a new survey indicates. The 249 CMOs of U.S. companies who took part in the survey noted they intend to increase their current level of spending on social media from its current level of 7.1 percent of their overall marketing budget to 10.1 percent over the next year. They expect to see this number rise to 17.5 percent in the next five years. read more » |

Online Seminar: What Do CFOs Think about the Economy Right Now?
What are CFOs thinking? CFOs have historically been very good at predicting where their companies and the economy at large are heading. Not surprising, as they are more dialed in to corporate profitability and both micro- and macroeconomic issues than most. Join Fuqua Professor John Graham; Jeffrey Kip '99, Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer, Panera Bread; and John Kogan '95, CEO, Proformative, on Wednesday, September 21, to learn what CFOs are thinking based on the most recent Duke/CFO magazine Global Business Outlook survey and how CFO insights may affect your company. learn more and register » |
