Bovenders to Give $25 Million to Duke
Duke University trustee Jack O. Bovender Jr. and his wife Barbara have established a bequest of $25 million to support Fuqua, Trinity College of Arts & Sciences and School of Nursing, President Richard H. Brodhead announced. Fuqua's Health Sector Management (HSM) Program and Trinity College will each receive $10 million from the Bovenders' estate, and the School of Nursing will receive $5 million. read more » |

Trustees Approve Master's Program in China
The Duke University Board of Trustees approved a proposal to offer a Master of Management Studies program in Kunshan, China, which will be led by Fuqua. The one-year, pre-experience business program will lead to a Duke degree. It is the first new program to gain Duke approval for operations at Duke Kunshan University (DKU), a joint venture with the City of Kunshan and Wuhan University to create a U.S.-modeled university in China. read more » |

CFO Survey: U.S. Outlook Improves though Recession Risk Still Acute
The outlook among U.S. CFOs has improved this quarter, with stronger hiring and spending plans relative to last quarter. At the same time, U.S. CFOs remain cautious about the future and peg the odds of a recession by mid-2012 at about 1 in 3. The situation in Europe is much worse than last quarter, with no growth expected in spending or hiring. The outlook in Asia has also softened. These are a few of the findings of the quarterly Duke University/CFO Magazine Global Business Outlook Survey. read more » |

The annual Duke MBA Marketing Conference will be on January, 25, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This year's conference explores "Marketing on the Move," diving into the changing climate within the marketing industry.
