Allan LindFuqua Faculty Conversations: Research That Is Relevant to You

October's Feature:
Allan Lind on "Leadership 'Heuristics:' Keys to establishing leadership quickly"

Research by Fuqua Professors Allan Lind and Sim Sitkin has shown that there are several types of leadership actions that give rise to "fast leadership connections." Three factors in particular seem to help new leaders establish trust and credibility with those they will lead:

  • Leader sacrifice or investment
  • Leader-follower shared values
  • Fairness

Our discussion will focus on how the research can help us step into new leadership positions. We'll talk about specific behaviors that show each of these leadership qualities, and we'll discuss a bit of the science behind the research.

Prepare for class now by watching a "pre-reading" video from Professor Lind. Class is in session on Wednesday, October 24, at 11 a.m. ET.
