MMS 2012-2013 Employment Report

Fuqua's Career Management Center is pleased to share the final employment report for the MMS Class of 2013 that represents information about the 2013 graduates who reported receiving and accepting offers by November 1, 2013. We encourage you to review the full report, but would like to highlight a few notable trends.

The mean salary for those students seeking employment was $58,015, up 7% from $54,190 in 2012. The National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE), reported in their September 2013 Salary Survey that the average starting salary for Class of 2013 college graduates stood at $45,327, with MMS salaries approximately 28% higher than that national mean. The weighted average of MMS salaries over the four years since degree launch is now $58,421. Similar to previous reports, almost 9 out of every 10 students reported receiving an offer by November 1, 2013.

Other notable trends include:

  • Finance and consulting attracted the most MMS graduates, with 31% going into finance roles and another 29% accepting consulting positions. Marketing was also a popular choice with 19% of the class landing in this industry.
  • There is a consistent pattern of growth in the number of employers who hired at least one MMS student each year. Between 2011 and 2013, the total number of employers hiring each year has ranged between 70 and 80, as awareness of the Fuqua MMS program continues to grow.
  • Some of the notable new employers in 2013 across multiple industries include Amazon.com, American Airlines, Navigant Consulting, NERA Economic Consulting, Oracle, Oliver Wyman, Oppenheimer Funds, SAP, and Societe Generale.
  • Employers are returning for repeat hiring across program years.  Of the employers who hired MMS students between 2010 and 2013, there are 35 employers that have hired from at least two different MMS graduating classes including companies such as Apple, Accenture LLP, Capital One, Ernst & Young, and State Street Corporation.

We are happy to be able to share another positive employment report as awareness of our uniquely trained and positioned MMS graduates grows. To learn more about recruiting MMS or MBA students at Fuqua, please visit the recruiting section of Fuqua's website.
