Dunn, Dina

Class of '93
Blink LLC, Founder and General Partner

As founder and General Partner of Blink, a marketing and communications agency in North Carolina, Dina works with manufacturing-based industries to transform short and long-term practices into sustainable initiatives. Dina speaks extensively about the rising influence of LOHAS consumers and their demands for eco-friendly products and services. Dina works with manufacturers, brands and retailers to identify opportunities and define responsible strategies and communication plans that build credibility and brand equity with critical stakeholders. Prior to founding Blink, Dina worked in Marketing for firms such as Reckitt & Colman, Kayser-Roth and Nylstar, Inc.

Dina earned her BA from Colgate University and her MBA from the Fuqua School of Business at Duke University. She currently serves as the Board Chair of The Greensboro Montessori School, was elected to Goldman Sachs' Vantage Marketplace as a consultant to the apparel industry and is an active member of Sustainable North Carolina. Dina and her husband, Mike, have two children and live in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Finger, Alison

Class of '93
Bristol-Myers Squibb Australia/NZ, Managing Director

Alison Finger joined Bristol-Myers Squibb as an Associate Marketing Manager in the consumer medicines division. She held positions of increasing responsibility working on the US EXCEDRIN business. In 1998 she assumed global responsibilities as Director of Global Franchise Strategy for Analgesics before moving to the US pharmaceutical group in 1999. After four years working in the US Diabetes Franchise as Director and Senior Director, Finger returned to global marketing as Vice President and global brand champion leading the global commercialization for BARACLUDE/hepatitis B. In June 2006 she assumed responsibilities for the global virology franchise for HIV, hepatitis B and C, working on assets from early development through launch and lifecycle management. Finger is the executive sponsor for BMS marketing excellence, marketing talent strategy, and talent recruitment at Duke University’s Fuqua School of Business. She has a BA in English Writing from St. Lawrence University in Canton, New York. Outside of work Finger rides horses and competes in show jumping events throughout the country. Her horse, Tuvalu, was 2006 Young Jumper champion and ranked sixth nationally. Her other horse, Kipper, is retired and lives in New Jersey.

Gardner, Seth

Class of '94
Cerberus Capital Mgmt., L.P., Managing Director

Seth Gardner joined the alumni council in 2007. Seth is a Managing Director in the private equity group at Cerberus Capital Management in New York City, where he has worked since 2003. Prior to that, Seth was an associate at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz, a New York City law firm. Seth and his wife, Jill, received their undergraduate degrees from Duke University. Jill serves on the executive committee of the Duke Annual Fund. They have three children.

Gilstrap, Allen

Class of '86
OpenRevolution, LLC, Chief Executive Officer

Allen Gilstrap is the CEO of OpenRevolution, LLC. Based in Washington, DC, OpenRevolution is in the business of creating, financing and network enabling mobile banking ventures that target ‘unbanked’ and ‘underbanked’ populations in developing countries in eastern Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. Prior to OpenRevolution, Gilstrap served as General Manager of American Express’ London-based Smart Solutions business which provided chipware-enabled solutions and marketing programs for American Express card issuing and merchant acquiring partners, worldwide. Previously, Gilstrap served on the Board of Directors of Interactive Transaction Solutions Ltd. (UK), as Chairman of the Smart Card Alliance, the North American industry association, and on the Proton World Advisory Board based in Brussels. Previously, Gilstrap served as Director of Business Planning for NYCE Corporation. Prior to NYCE, he was contracted by First Union National Bank to serve as overall manager of smart card related business initiatives. Prior to these experiences, he was a partner in a marine biotechnology business spawned out of the Duke University Marine Laboratory. Raised in Kansas, Gilstrap is married to Julia Schesnovich, a Russian national, and has two children that reside in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Grund, Karen

Class of '90
American Express Company, Director of Field Effectiveness

Vice Chair, Alumni Council

As a Director of Field Effectiveness at American Express, Karen leads strategic projects to optimize process management for Global Business Travel. During her eighteen-year career at American Express Karen has held positions in account management as well as consumer and business-to-business marketing in the credit card and travel service divisions. Karen is a 2004 recipient of the American Express Presidents Club Award for performance. She also received the Fuqua School Alumni Leadership Award in 2002. Early in her career, Karen worked in portfolio management in the private banking division of Bank of New York as well as on the trading floor at First Chicago Bank. She holds a BA in Political Science as well as a MBA in Marketing and Finance from Duke University. In addition Karen is a member of Board of the New York Junior League where she has championed community service initiatives serving the people of New York City. Karen was honored as a NYJL Outstanding Volunteer in 2008. Karen was born in Greenwich, Connecticut and she currently resides in New York City.

Gulinson, Shel

Gulinson & Associates, President

Sheldon Gulinson is a results-oriented health care executive with nearly forty years of health care experience. Throughout his expansive career that includes working in and with hospitals, outpatient services, post-acute services, and managed care, he has gained an unusually broad understanding of the health care industry and the interrelationships of its many components. Besides his operational experience, and serving for many years as an advisor to hospitals, he has been a senior executive for a start-up and has managed turnarounds, new product development, and marketing strategy development and execution. Prior to QHR, Gulinson held positions as: Vice President/Enterprise Clients, Leading Post-Acute Healthcare Services Management Company; Vice President/Healthcare Corporate Partnerships, Top Outsourcing Company with 1200 Hospital Customers; Executive Vice President, Healthcare Services Management Firm; Group Vice President/Marketing and Business, National Hospital Association; President, Regional Hospital Association, California; Senior Vice President, Metropolitan Hospital Council, Midwest; Administrator, Comprehensive Outpatient Center, Midwest; Senior Executive/Chief Financial Officer, U.S. Air Force Hospital. Gulinson is a member of: American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE); Regent’s Advisory Council (ACHE); past President, Duke University Hospital and Healthcare Alumni Association. Gulinson’s varied interests include: Music (played in a beach music band while at Duke); fast cars, value golf (lots of strokes for the money); and boating in Door County, Wisconsin. He and Gail have two sons: Brent and Gregg.

Haskett, Bill

Class of '78
Deloitte Consulting, Senior Manager

Bill Haskett currently works for Deloitte Consulting LLP, where he is a Senior Manager in their Federal Practice, providing financial consulting to clients within the Department of Defense. Previously Bill retired as a Captain, in the U.S. Navy Supply Corps, after 27 years of service.  In the Navy his assignments included Comptroller for the Naval Shipyards and Supervisor of Shipbuilding, and Comptroller of the United States Pacific Command, in addition to financial positions within the Naval Air Systems Command, the Naval Sea Systems Command, the Naval Supply Systems Command, and the Office of the Navy Comptroller (ASN (FM&C)). Before joining Deloitte, Bill was with American Management Systems as a Senior Principal, and then jointed SAIC where he was a Vice President. His undergraduate degree from the University of California, Santa Barbara, was in mathematics and economics. He also attended the Executive Program at the University of Michigan and the Industrial College of the Armed Forces at the National Defense University.

Henry, Heather

Class of '99
Booz Allen & Hamilton Inc.,

Heather Bannister Henry is a seasoned strategy professional with experience in management consulting, business and policy analysis, integrated marketing communications and information technology for Fortune 500 and Federal government executives. Ms. Henry currently works for Booz Allen Hamilton in their headquarters office in McLean, Virginia, but her program management work has taken her outside the continental U.S. to Australia, Canada and Guam with occasional travel to seventeen other countries. Equally active in her community, Ms. Henry has received recognition for her many years of service to Marine Corps Toys for Tots programs as both a corporate and private toy collection site coordinator. Her other charitable initiatives include corporate programs supporting Northern Virginia Family Services. Ms. Henry enabled the establishment of the Fuqua Alumni Club of D.C., where she served several terms as an officer and remains active as a liaison to Fuqua and alumni advisor. In addition to her Duke MBA, Ms. Henry holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and both Program Management Professional (PMP) and Certified Usability Analyst (CUA) professional certifications. Ms. Henry resides in Falls Church, VA, with her husband, Matt, and daughter, Madeline.

Jeffries, Tim

Class of '03
P7 Enterprises, Managing Partner

Tim Jeffries serves as the Managing Partner of P7 Enterprises, and a Managing Director of 1stWEST Mergers & Acquisitions. In addition, Jeffries serves on several corporate boards. Committed to volunteer service, Jeffries serves as Chairman of the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Arizona, and Vice Chairman of the Arizona Chamber of Commerce and Industry. In addition, Jeffries serves on several prominent non-profit boards supporting and advancing crime victims’ rights. Prior to his Duke Global Executive MBA, Jeffries earned a Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Santa Clara University where he met his wife, Mary Frances. They have been married 21 years. They have two daughters, a son-in-law and a grand-daughter. Jeffries chaired the “GEMBA 2003” Reunion Class Gift Committee. He has also attended the past four Duke International MBA Retreats, and several Coach K. Leadership Conferences.
