10 Ways to Get Involved as a Volunteer


1. Host or Speak at an Alumni Event in Your City

Fuqua has alumni clubs all over the world. Contact the club leadership of the club nearest you to set up an event. No club in your area? Consider starting one. Contact alumni relations for more information.

2. Serve on the Alumni Council

The Alumni Council advises the development and alumni relations team on how to improve alumni services. More information.

3. Keep Your Classmates Up to Date

Class correspondents encourage submissions of class notes and collect the responses for submission to Exchange magazine. More information.

4. Recruit Students For Your Program

Would you enjoy recruiting prospective students and meeting Fuqua's future leaders? If so, consider volunteering as an admissions ambassador for your MBA program. Fuqua's admissions staff needs the help of alumni to attend information sessions, conduct interviews, answer questions and call admitted students. 5. Get Your Company Involved

Help enrich the Fuqua experience for current students by encouraging your company to be actively involved with student clubs and organizations. Students regularly offer a broad spectrum of events that provide your organization the opportunity to showcase its management expertise and industry insights. Contact Corporate Relations at 919.660.7710 to develop a plan to best integrate your company or contact the Career Management Center to learn about recruiting.

6. Make Your Class Reunion a Success

Your class has its own reunion every five years on campus. Make your reunion a success by being a member of the committee.

7. Chair an Affinity Group Advisory Board

Affinity Groups are a new way to network with alumni online by special interest, affiliation or experience. We're looking for alumni to help lead activities for these virtual communities. Contact Erin Gasch '03 for more information.

8. Write an Article for FuquaNet

The alumni relations team seeks submissions for FuquaNet, the monthly e-newsletter send to all alumni. Visit the FuquaNet archive for story ideas. Send your thoughts and questions to alumni-relations@fuqua.duke.edu or contact Erin Bartels.

9. Serve on Your Class Gift Committee

Every five years, your class will be asked to make a gift to the school in honor of your reunion. Volunteers are needed to reach out to classmates' and explain the importance of the class giving program. For more information, visit Reunion Giving.

10. Spread the Word

Make use of all those Fuqua tchochkes and share your business school experience with others. Be on the lookout for strong admissions candidates.
