Market your organization
Duke MBA students are bombarded with messaging from recruiters as early as their first day of orientation. What can you do to make sure your company’s opportunities stand out?
Support Greener Forms of Recruiting
In an effort to reduce the environmental impact of recruiting, Fuqua will restrict the use of corporate "giveaway" items beginning with the 2008-2009 recruiting season. There are still many environmentally friendly ways to make your organization memorable.
Participate in a Career Expo
The Duke MBA Career Management Center will host 8 Career Expos aligned along 4 functional and/or industry interests. These expos will be smaller format (~ 10 companies per event) and give you the option of conducting a 15-minute presentation in a private room during your visit. The Expos will be followed by a networking reception for companies and students.
Attend career fairs and other large-scale events
The Duke MBA Career Management Center will host two general career fairs in the fall and one in the spring. The Fall Career Fairs will be followed by a general networking reception for all companies and students.
Host a Corporate Presentation
Previously known as SIPs at Duke, some companies will have 1 hour for a Corporate Presentation. These events are limited to the top hiring companies that have traditionally garnered the most student attention through their events, interviews, and job postings. Office hours are more informal "drop in" opportunities for students to speak with representatives.
Participate in student activities
Sponsoring student events such as club activities and mock interviews provides visibility for your company and a chance to interact with students who have strong interest in the functional or geographic area that aligns with your recruiting needs. Your company can provide sponsorship through an investment of time or money.
Advertise
The student newspaper, The Fuqua Times, and other on-campus options help advertise your company and its opportunities.
Leverage alumni and summer interns
Duke MBA alumni are often your company’s strongest advocates, and summer interns can add to your campus presence and act as your company’s best emissaries.
