- Excellence in Teaching Award: Sim Sitkin, Professor of Management and COLE Faculty Director, was awarded the Excellence in Teaching Award for the Duke Goethe Program leadership elective. Award was presented at the May 2010 graduation ceremony.
- Sim Sitkin elected Fellow of the Academy of Management (AOM), in recognition of his significant contributions to the science and practice of management. Professor Sitkin is the first person from Duke to be elected as an AOM Fellow since its creation in 1953. The AOM is the leading professional association for scholars dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations.
- Best Paper Award - Sim Sitkin, was awarded 2007 AMR best paper for the paper – “Cognitive Underpinnings of Institutional Persistence and Change: A Framing Perspective”. Co-authors are Elizabeth George, Phithviraj Chattopadhyay, and Jeff Barden. Academy of Management Review (AMR) is one of the most highly cited journals in management and organization behavior.
- Kenan Dissertation Fellowship in Ethics Award: Fuqua Ph.D. Candidate, Morela Hernandez, was the 2006-2007 recipient of
the annual Kenan Dissertation Fellowship in Ethics
for her dissertation "Stewardship: A theory and test of its antecedents." The Kenan Dissertation Fellowship in Ethics is awarded annually to an advanced graduate student writing a dissertation with a substantial focus on ethics.
- Excellence in Ethics Dissertation Award: Fuqua Ph.D. Candidate, Morela Hernandez, won the 2006 annual "Excellence in Ethics Dissertation Award" for her dissertation "Stewardship: A theory and test of its antecedents." The proposal competition is hosted by The Institute for Ethical Business Worldwide at the University of Notre Dame.
