John Graham is the D. Richard Mead, Jr. Family professor of finance at The Fuqua School of Business at Duke University and a Faculty Co-Director of Fuqua's Center for Financial Excellence. Professor Graham received his Ph.D. in finance from Duke University and has served on the faculties of the University of Utah and Duke University. He is a past winner of the "best teacher" award and also a recipient of Fuqua's overall Outstanding Faculty award. Professor Graham was recently named the VP-elect of the Western Finance Association, a prestigious professional organization serving academicians and practitioners with a scholarly interest in the development and application of research in finance.Professor Graham's research focuses on corporate finance, including the cost of capital, payout policy, capital structure, financial reporting, and taxes. He has published more than three dozen scholarly articles in finance and accounting academic journals. Professor Graham has served on the Board of Directors of the Financial Management Association, the American Finance Association, and the Western Finance Association, the three largest finance professional organizations. Professor Graham is co-editor of the Journal of Finance and a past or current Associate Editor of the Journal of Finance, the Review of Financial Studies, Financial Management, and Finance Re-search Letters. Since 1997 Professor Graham has been the director of the Duke/CFO Magazine Global Business Outlook, a quarterly survey of financial executives about the business outlook around the world and topical economic issues.
