National Forum on Trade Policy

In 2003, the Duke and UNC CIBERs co-founded the National Forum on Trade Policy (NFTP) in partnership with the NC Department of Commerce. The purpose of the forum is to bring together high level officials, including U.S. trade representatives appointed by the governor of each state, state trade directors, industry senior executives, faculty, and scholars to explore current issues and find proactive solutions for increasing economic integration. Selected CIBERs that serve on the Steering Committee take turns organizing the annual forum.

The 2009 Forum entitled "North America Works and National Forum on Trade Policy:  Enhancing North America's Competitiveness in a Changing World" was held on November 4-6, 2009 in Kansas City, Missouri.
