Jessie Ng, Duke MBA 2011:
Particpating in the CIBER GBP project was one of the most rewarding experiences at Fuqua. I had the opportunity to work with a very diverse team of MBA students from 3 US universities and 1 Japanese university, and learned from their rich cultural and professional experiences. As part of our market penetration project for a Japanese Food & Beverage company, we were on-site for 17 days in Kobe, Japan. There, I had the chance to apply my business skills to a real problem that our client was facing, learn more about Japanese business culture and soak up the warm Japanese hospitality.![]()
The Global Business Project (GBP) is a graduate course designed and developed by a consortium of 13 CIBERs. The goal of the course is to provide a way for MBAs and graduate students from consortium schools to increase their global business and language competency through guided hands-on business experience in global markets.
This hands-on experiential learning course capitalizes on individual strengths, experiences, and interests of the students while working in a virtual team environment with their peers from participating institutions. Students work on real consulting projects in Brazil, China, India, and Thailand and provide solutions to challenging business problems.
