Please join us for a great event entitled European Economic Crisis and Its Impact on the US Economy with Duke Economics Professor Juan Rubio-Ramirez. This is a great opportunity to mingle with other Duke alumni and to be part of an interesting conversation about current economic trends in the U.S. Drinks and appetizers will be served. Join other Duke alums interested in hearing from Duke Economics Professor Juan F. Rubio-Ramirez . He is a macroeconomist with a keen interest in theoretical models and their policy implications. In particular, Juan's research agenda includes the study of dynamic general equilibrium models, their solution as well as times series estimation methods. In addition to his academic work, he currently serves as permanent visiting scholar to the Federal Reserve Bank (FRB) of Atlanta. On the policy arena, he is currently an advisor to several governments and central banks throughout the world. In addition to his work as an advisor to the Federal Reserve System in the US, he has worked as a consultant to the Spanish president and the Central Bank of Venezuela. He is currently a member of FEDEA (Spain) and his recommendations are regularly quoted by specialized media such as the Financial Times.
