The Fuqua/Coach K Center on Leadership & Ethics (COLE) was established by Duke University's Fuqua School of Business (in collaboration with The Kenan Institute for Ethics and Duke University Athletics) to advance leadership and ethics through research and education. Through this dynamic partnership, the center leverages the intellectual resources and practical experiences of leading academic and practitioner institutions to bridge theory and practice. COLE strives to influence the way students, academics, corporations, governments, and non-profits think about and practice business leadership and ethics in the 21st century.
As a school, The Fuqua School of Business is dedicated to advancing the understanding of management through research, putting research knowledge at the service of business and society, and providing the highest quality education for business and not-for-profit leaders worldwide. Sustained excellence in terms of management education, research, and the advancement of management practice has been the school's mission with the end product (our graduates) being leaders of consequence."

The mission of the Duke University Athletics, ultimately, is that of Duke itself: "to engage the mind, to elevate the spirit, and stimulate the best effort of all who are associated with the University." The goal of the intercollegiate program is the same as that of the University's academic programs: excellence. In this context, excellence includes commitment to the physical and emotional well-being, and social development of student-athletes as well as to the development of their sense of citizenship, dedication to sportsmanship and fair play, the development of individual and team skills, the exertion of best effort, the will to win, and general conduct that brings credit to the University and is a source of pride and enthusiasm for all members of the Duke community.
Duke Athletics annually leads the Atlantic Coast Conference in honor roll selections for cumulative GPA and most recently captured its latest NCAA National Championship when the women's tennis program won it in 2009. In 2010 season, school history was made when multiple Duke teams won a NCAA Championship in a single year - t he Men's lacrosse program captured their first NCAA Championship and the m en's basketball program won its fourth title.
The tradition-rich story of Duke Basketball includes 1 5 trips to the Final Four and in 1991, 1992, 2001, and 2010 the Blue Devils brought home the championship banners that now hang in historic Cameron Indoor Stadium.
The Kenan Institute for Ethics is an interdisciplinary "think and do" tank committed to understanding and addressing real-world ethical challenges facing individuals, organizations, and societies worldwide. We foster students' capacity for ethical decision-making and develop ethical leaders; conduct interdisciplinary research that has practical implications; and shape public policy and institutional practices through partnerships with businesses, think tanks, non-profits, and policy-makers. We promote ethical reflection and engagement through our research, education, and practice in three core areas: Moral Education & Decision-Making, Organizational Ethics, and Civic & Global Ethics.
The primary objective of the Center for Technology, Entertainment and Media is to become a catalyzing agent to accelerate our understanding of how organizations successfully adapt and evolve in the midst of disruptive technological change.
In developing a deep understanding of how leaders in Entertainment and Media are responding to the waves of creative destruction we can gain new insights into how management practice must evolve to sustain competitive advantage in increasingly turbulent and transparent business environments.
The Center for Technology, Entertainment and Media has a three pronged mission:
To convene and facilitate effective collaborations of decision-makers, thought leaders and academics too develop new insights and approaches on how to deal with disruptive technological change.
