Your Career - International Students
International Student, Ralf Kloeckner, didn't get sidetracked when looking for his summer internship. He focused on his core skills and experience for the right match. Read his MBA internship story.
A global perspective is one of the most important qualities tomorrow's leaders can have. So as a global institution, Fuqua is able to provide international full-time MBA students with the support needed to smoothly transition from student to MBA professional. Nearly 40% of our students are non-U.S. citizens and come from all over the world. The Career Management Center (CMC) works closely with you to identify your unique needs and direct you to the richest resources available.
MBA Job Opportunities Within the U.S.
The CMC works with you to help you understand the hiring landscape and to effectively position yourself as a candidate in the U.S. We work in close partnership with international student clubs, alumni, Fuqua's regional teams, the Daytime MBA International Programs Office, and other departments to fully integrate these offerings into your Duke MBA experience. Fuqua is committed to the success of all students and while the job market is increasingly competitive and limited work visas can mean there is never a guarantee that you will be hired to work within the U.S., we will help you on your career path to be a strong global business leader.
U.S. Work Authorization
Under the US visa regimes, it may be possible for international students to become eligible for Duke-sponsored summer internship employment. For full-time employment after graduation, students without permanent U.S. work authorization may be eligible to receive additional Duke-sponsored work authorization. To continue working in the U.S. beyond this time frame requires sponsorship independent of The Duke MBA program and will require company sponsorship, another visa category, etc.
For more information, visit the Duke Visa Service Office.
"… my Duke experience made such a difference in my career that I now volunteer as an Admissions Alumni Ambassador for the school. I am proud to give back to fellow Indian students and to show them and others what a Duke MBA did for me personally." - Sanjith Shetty '95, Vice Chairman at Soham Infrastructure
