William E. Hammond

Visiting Faculty in Health Sector Management

Profile: Dr. Hammond obtaind his B.S.E.E. and Ph.D. degrees in electrical engineering and has postdoctoral training in medicine from the Duke University Medical Center. His main areas of interest include clinical information systems, electronic health records, national and international standards, decision support systems, networking, vocabulary, databases, and computerization in ambulatory care. Dr. Hammond is President of the American Medical Informatics Association (AMIA) and was recently awarded the 2003 Ellwood Award for lifetime achievement.
