The Duke MBA network is comprised of more than 11,000 addressable alumni working in 80 countries. Although it is younger and therefore smaller in comparison with its peers, The Duke MBA network is both tightly woven and entrepreneurial, with a focus on leveraging opportunities to bond alumni from different decades and programs together. For example, we have an alumnus based in Hong Kong who will fly to Durham, North Carolina for the weekend to attend a meeting of our Alumni Council. A Duke Executive MBA managing a boutique investment bank in Thailand hired four graduates of our Daytime MBA program over the past five years. In Los Angeles, California, alumni recently came together to strategize how they could increase The Duke MBA’s presence in the entertainment industry. The Duke MBA network has momentum.
With more than 100,000 addressable alumni across the globe, alumni of Duke University add to the rich network of individuals with whom The Duke MBA graduates can reach out. Executives, engineers, researchers, lawyers and professionals spanning a broad range of industry and functional roles make up the greater Duke University alumni community. A Duke MBA alumna working in a global pharmaceutical company explained her first interaction with the vice president who became her mentor; the VP told her she was a graduate of Duke’s undergraduate program and then said, “You’re Duke to me, so I’m making sure you succeed.” The Duke alumni network is tight knit, with a warm regard and respect for all graduates of Duke’s many competitive academic programs.
