May 09, 2005
The competition took place at Carnegie Mellon’s Tepper School of Business on February 11-12. During the weekend-long competition, five teams from some of the top MBA programs competed to prepare and present a challenging corporate finance case study.
The Fuqua students included second-year, Chris Bennani, Haley Lai, Jerome Mo, Wei King and first-year student, Scott Smith who competed against teams from Wharton, NYU Stern, Cornell and Carnegie Mellon.
The case focused on capital raising strategies at the energy conglomerate, Williams Companies. This is the first time a Duke team has won the corporate finance competition.
