Fuqua's Class of 2005 Daytime Graduation Speaker is Allan Gilmour

Allan Gilmour, former vice chairman of Ford Motor Company, will be the speaker for the 2005 Daytime MBA commencement on May 14.
Mr. Gilmour received a bachelor’s of arts degree from Harvard University and an MBA from the University of Michigan. In his role as vice chairman, Mr. Gilmour was responsible for Ford Motor Company’s finance, investor relations, general auditor’s office, human resources, corporate affairs and corporate strategy operations. He also had oversight for the financial services sector of the company, which includes Ford Motor Credit Company and Hertz.
Mr. Gilmour began his career with Ford in 1960 as a finance staff financial analyst and later was supervisor of financial presentations. He was assistant to the executive vice president of finance before joining Ford Credit as executive vice president of administration.
“I have a lot of respect and admiration for Allan Gilmour, and I understand he's a great speaker," says Fuqua Dean Douglas Breeden. “It is an honor to have him here at Duke to speak at our commencement. It will surely be a very special event for our MBA graduates.”
Mr. Gilmour retired on February 1, 2005 and serves on the board of directors of DTE Energy Company and Whirlpool Corporation.
