David Gergen Gives Lessons On Leadership

David Gergen talks about the lessons he learned as a presidential advisor, speechwriter and political analyst

David Gergen worked with some of the most powerful people on Earth, so he knows all about different leadership styles. Gergen advised presidents Gerald Ford, Ronald Reagan and Bill Clinton, and he served as director of speechwriting for President Richard Nixon. He is a senior political analyst at CNN and works as a Professor of Public Service and Director of the Center for Public Leadership at the Harvard Kennedy School.

He was recently part of the Distinguished Speakers Series at the Fuqua School of Business. He talked about everything from his experience in the White House to the qualities that define leadership.
