Related Information
Below are details about our campus visit activities and our interview options. We look forward to hosting you as you begin to explore The Duke MBA culture and experience.
Open Interviews
Schedule Your Campus Visit and/or Open Interview:
(Please note that a separate system is used for invitation-only interviews.)
Available September 15 - October 14, 2011
During our Open Interview season only, you may request an evaluative interview in Durham, either during or outside of a scheduled campus visit. A completed application is NOT required to interview during the Open Interview period.
These interview slots are expected to fill quickly, so please schedule your interview through our online scheduling system as soon as possible. We will be unable to accommodate interview requests after the slots on the online scheduling system have been filled. Once the interview slots have been filled, you are still welcome and encouraged to schedule other campus visit activities by utilizing the "Campus visit without interview" option.
Use our online scheduling system to register for your Open Interview (NOT for Invitation-Only Interviews).
Invitation-Only Interviews
All interviews available after October 14, 2011, are by invitation only. A completed application is required to interview during the Invitation-Only period. If invited, you will have the option to interview in Durham or in a number of cities around the world.
- We will contact you via email if you are selected for an interview.
- Interview invitations will be sent according to the schedule below, by application round.
- There may be a short time period between the time that you receive an interview invitation and the date that interview occurs. If you will need to travel to your preferred interview location, please plan accordingly.

Interview Tips & Reminders
- Invitations for interviews will be sent with as little as 9 - 10 days notice. Please take note of this when selecting a location in which to interview, and be ready to make plans quickly if you will need to travel to the interview location.
- All interviews are conducted by an admissions officer, alumnus or alumna, or a select second-year MBA student.
- Interviewers will have a copy of your resume, but no other portion of your application file.
- The online scheduling system will not allow last minute registrations. If you are unable to schedule through the online system, please contact us at admissions-info@fuqua.duke.edu or +1.919.660.7705, and we will do our best to accommodate you.
- If scheduling an interview in conjunction with a campus visit, select an interview time that will allow you to fully participate in the other campus visit activities.
- All interviews are conducted in English and typically last 30 - 45 minutes.
- To change an interview location preference after submitting your application, send an email to admissions-info@fuqua.duke.edu.
Campus Visits
We strongly believe that the best way to learn about The Duke MBA is to experience a day in the life of a student through our Campus Visit program! During the day you will have the opportunity to meet other prospective students, current students, faculty, and staff. Campus Visits are offered on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays throughout the year. We offer a variety of activities during Campus Visits, including:
- Tour & lunch with current students
- Class observation
- "Meet and Greet" with an admissions officer (this informal group setting allows you and other prospective students to have individual questions answered by an Admissions Committee member)
- Opportunity to discuss our Centers during student led sessions
- Distinguished Speaker Series lectures
Use our online scheduling system to register for your Campus Visit. The system is not connected to the online application, so you will need to create a unique account for each. The online scheduling system will be active beginning August 1, 2011.
You are also welcome to visit Fuqua more than once to help you decide which of our programs is right for you. (Other program visitation information: Weekend Executive, Global Executive, Cross Continent, Master of Management Studies: Foundations of Business.)
Saturday Activities
If your work or other commitments prevent you from traveling to Durham during the week, we offer activities on select Saturday dates during both the open interview period and our invitation-only period. The programming on these dates is designed to still provide you an opportunity to experience the Fuqua culture with the convenience of a Saturday schedule. We offer a variety of activities on these dates, including:
- Tour of the Fuqua facilities
- Student led panel discussion & lunch
- Opportunity to learn more about the MBAA through a student led club activity fair
The online scheduling system will enable you to indicate an interest in these options.
Student Led Sessions
For Durham Visitors Only: Fuqua offers eleven concentrations, plus two certificate programs, designed to allow you to customize your MBA experience, and we invite you to learn more by attending a “Concentrations” session during your visit. Use the online scheduling system to sign up for an informal group discussion with current students pursuing specific concentrations. Concentration areas are also supported by student clubs and other campus resources. In addition, the Association of Women in Business will host a student-led session to discuss the club’s role and the resources at The Fuqua School of Business that support women in business.
Activities for Partners
Your partner (significant other) is welcome to visit Duke with you. In the online scheduling system, please indicate if your partner will accompany you. A representative of the Fuqua Partners Organization will contact your partner via e-mail with additional information for the day of your visit. Due to limited space, we kindly ask partners to refrain from attending the class visit.
Inclement Weather Policy
For Durham Visitors Only: Duke University policy dictates that only essential services report to work during any severe weather or emergency condition. Should the university activate the severe weather policy, it is likely that Fuqua's admissions office will be closed or delayed in opening.
If you are scheduled for a visit in Durham, call +1.919.660.7739 and a recorded message will update you on the status of our operating conditions.
If you cannot make it to campus because of inclement weather, please call +1.919.660.7739 and leave your name, contact information, and your affected campus visit and interview schedule. We will contact you and reschedule your interview or visit at a time that is convenient for you.
Cancellations
If you must cancel or reschedule your visit or interview, please use our online scheduling system. Changes cannot be made less than 2 days in advance of your visit. If you have last minute changes, please contact us as soon as possible at +1.919.660.7705 or admissions-info@fuqua.duke.edu.
