In business schools nationwide and in the upper ranks of corporate America, women are underrepresented. The Fuqua School of Business knows it’s time for a change. As a leader in business education, Duke is dedicated to building a diverse learning community that affords each woman the opportunity to reach her highest potential.

The Duke MBA Weekend for Women offers prospective female students and all prospective students a unique opportunity to sample Duke in the company of other women and like-minded individuals — from peers considering business school to current MBA students and leading faculty and alumnae. The entire Duke community, not just our female community, is committed to diversity, and thus, The Duke MBA Weekend for Women is open to all individuals, regardless of gender, who share our goals for a diverse community.

What to Expect: This event offers an introduction to the fundamental disciplines of management education, provides an in-depth exploration of career and networking opportunities, and provides a dialogue as to what it means to be a woman balancing her needs in the business world. Student members of the Association of Women in Business serve as hosts for the 3-day workshop. Also:

  • Formal and informal networking will occur with Duke MBA students, alumnae, faculty, and administrators
  • Admissions staff members will share information on matching prospective students' specific needs and abilities with The Duke MBA and will provide insight into the application process
  • Career Management Center staff will discuss career planning and post-MBA opportunities
  • MBA alumnae will discuss the role of the MBA in their own career development

Apply: Fuqua invites a limited number of attendees to the Weekend for Women. You must submit an application for consideration. The application consists of a questionnaire, which is online

For Participants: Participants who are invited to attend will receive a complete agenda prior to the weekend. All expenses incurred by participants (except travel to and from Durham, incidentals such as personal phone calls, and room service) will be paid by Duke University. Invitation to workshop does not guarantee admission to The Fuqua School of Business.
