Global Executive MBA

As you begin the Global Executive MBA program, you will also begin a journey of self-discovery. This initial phase of the career development process builds a solid foundation to expand upon once you've earned your MBA credentials.

To effectively market yourself in your career, you must know your strengths and have a vision for your future. Understanding your personality, motivations, reward values, and skills will help you develop your career plan. To gain insight into all these areas, you will complete detailed self-assessments during the first residency. Then, you will develop your professional goals by researching industries and/or roles of interest to you.

Throughout the career development process, you will have access to online tools and resources including:

In addition, a variety of planning and development workshops, tutorials, and other events will be offered in residency and during distance-learning periods.

During the Preparation phase of the career development process, our career staff provide guidance and coaching to help you take concrete steps to develop and expand upon opportunities within your organization or externally. Past workshops included:

• Managing Your Career Within an Organization: Learn practical tips and strategies for communicating and maximizing the value of your MBA degree within your organization.
• Making an Executive Career Transition: Explore methods for managing an effective career transition (whether internal or external). Implement a framework for developing and marketing your story, and learn how to appropriately position your pitch.
• Three Types of Questions: Three questions are asked during almost all job interviews, including ones for promotional opportunities within your current firm. You will discuss these questions and how to answer them.

It's now time to execute your career strategy.

For those making an external transition, you will have access to online job databases—both proprietary postings from Fuqua recruiters and third party databases. You may also have your resume included in Fuqua's Executive MBA and Regional Resume Books, which are searchable databases for recruiters targeting 8 different areas of the world.

Workshops to assist with the Implementation stage may include:

• Networking Preparation: Learn what to expect at recruiting and networking events, and learn how to make a lasting impression.
• Maintaining Executive Presence: Focuses on your value proposition and how to practice and perfect your pitch to communicate your career progression.
