Additional Information
As a Global Executive MBA student, you will have access to extensive career resources both in person and online.
You may also take advantage of our on-campus recruiting activities during the Durham residency, and during your personal time if you are able to travel to campus. On-campus activities may include workshops, one-on-one career coaching, and networking events with recruiters.
Below is a sampling of the career resources available to you throughout the program. And, don't underestimate the resources of your new classmates to help you manage your career. In many ways, they will become your trusted advisors as well as your friends.
Individual Attention
Career coaching happens throughout the global residencies during breakfast meetings, evening sessions, and even during class breaks.
Our coaching model is driven by you and your objectives. Career coaches can help you to address any career challenge that you may be having, including developing an effective strategy for a career transition.
Think of your coach as a facilitator — making connections and establishing partnerships. They are available to meet with you in-person during Durham residencies and are accessible via email and Skype.
Career coaching is optional and confidential. If you choose, you will be assigned to a specific coach based on your background and your goals. Our professional coaches possess a variety of experience to meet your needs.
An Inside Look at Unilever in Russia
Unilever's products are mainstays in almost every Russian household. Recent Global Executive MBA students visited Unilever's Lipton tea factory (pictured), and heard from Fulvio Guarneri, Vice President for Marketing HPC, who focused on marketing at Unilever. Students also gained insight on working at the company. Read a press release about the event (in Russian).
On-site company visits are an ideal way to learn about a company and industry. Corporate visits are arranged during residencies as part of the curriculum to study the regional business landscape. You'll tour facilities, meet employees and managers through panel discussions, and get a sense of the type of work that is done there. You'll learn about the industry, job functions, and current business challenges from company leaders, some of whom are Fuqua alumni.
Past corporate visits have included:
- Mars in Dubai
- Tyco in China
- Rio Tinto in London
- Nokian Tyres in St. Petersburg
- Quintiles in Durham
