It is to your advantage to apply as early as possible to give yourself the longest possible time to prepare both academically and professionally. Typically, you will receive a decision within 4 to 6 weeks after your application was successfully completed.

If you are concerned about your quantitative readiness for the next class, you should not apply in the final deadline round, since the late deadline may not allow for adequate quantitative assessment and preparation. For more information, visit the MBA Ready pages.

The Admissions Office encourages every applicant to establish an accessible email account before submitting an application, as email is the most efficient way for the admissions office to communicate quickly with applicants. Credentials Verification

Fuqua has retained Re Vera Services, LLC to verify the information included in applications. We do this to deter fraudulent applications and preserve the integrity of our community. If you are admitted and submit your tuition deposit, you will be provided with instructions on the verification process, which could take a few weeks to process. Any omission, falsification or misrepresentation in your application, including violations of GMAT, GRE, or any ESL testing policies, is grounds for automatic revocation of all offers of admission and financial assistance, or expulsion from the Global Executive MBA program.

Applying for an MBA is an exciting process, though it can seem daunting at the start. Seeking admission to The Duke MBA is not an arduous process, and it’s made even easier with a little background information:

          • GMAT
The GMAT is not required, but a candidate with limited quantitative experience can strengthen the application with a competitive GMAT score. Other important aspects of the application that are assessed by the admissions committee include a candidate’s academic performance, work experience, recommendations, essays, and the required interview.
          • Essays
Essays are an opportunity to share your perspective directly with the Admissions Committee. The goal of our essays is to gain a greater understanding of why you want to pursue an MBA and what you will bring to Duke, in addition to your experiences that shape your unique perspective.
          • Past Academic Experience
We do not require or give preference to a particular undergraduate major. Students come from a wide range of academic backgrounds.
          • Work Experience
Since the Global Executive program is designed for senior global managers and executives, we require a minimum of 10 years post-undergraduate work experience, and current or pending global work responsibilities. You should use the application to articulate how your international experience will contribute to the learning environment at The Fuqua School of Business and show how your management experience has helped you develop leadership and teamwork skills, as well as maturity, on professional and personal levels.
          • Interview
An interview provides an opportunity for our admissions committee to get to know you better.  It's also a chance for you to provide a more personal explanation of your background and interest, as well as a chance to have your questions answered in a one-on-one setting.
          • Application Fee
A non-refundable $200 application fee must be paid by credit card (VISA or MasterCard). The fee is paid when you submit the online application to the Office of Admissions.
