The Duke MBA—Daytime offers optional, specialized concentrations in all of the major functional and topical areas of business. Each concentration identifies a set of electives from which you choose 6 courses. Concentrations are optional.
Concentrations typically feature 4 focal courses in the discipline plus 2 courses from other areas that broaden your knowledge—a structure unique among leading business schools. This interdisciplinary innovation enhances Duke’s tradition of providing a superior management education.
Concentration Options: You may choose from 0 to 2 concentrations.
Dual Concentration: Certain disciplines and areas offer a dual concentration, which counts as the maximum of 2 concentrations. If you choose 2 separate concentrations, you might think of the first as providing depth needed for early career success and the second as expanding your breadth of knowledge and skills for lifelong success. Even with 2 concentrations, you have room in your schedule for other electives to customize your MBA experience.
Registration: First-year Daytime students who plan to pursue a concentration must make their selection on the Fuqua World website during Fall 2 or the Spring Term.
Acknowledgement: Upon graduation, your completed concentration will be indicated on your official transcript.
