Born and raised in France, Bertrand started his international business career in Germany in 1992 after completing his undergraduate studies in France where he earned two undergraduate degrees in international marketing and international business. In 1997, he earned his MBA in international management from the Thunderbird School of Global Management in Glendale, Arizona, and then he worked for American Express in Phoenix, Arizona, and Nortel Networks in RTP, North Carolina. In 2002, he joined Fuqua. He resides in Cary, North Carolina, with his wife, Melissa, and their son, Sébastien. Between 2008-2010, Bertrand advised Duke CIBER at a strategic level, and represented Duke CIBER at international conferences and consortia. He is the school representative/ambassador to the Global Business School Network (GBSN) along with Professor Will Mitchell, and is on the conference planning committee for the Association of International Educators and Administrators (AIEA). In addition, Bertrand manages the strategic goals of the International Center, as well as GATEs/GCPs/FITs/GIS, Exchange partnerships, and OPT, as well as other International Center events and programs at Fuqua. As P.I.M. Chair for North America, Bertrand represents 14 business schools and is a member of the P.I.M. Strategic Advisory Board.

Candice joined Fuqua in 2008. Before joining the Fuqua team, Candice received her Master of Science degree (MSc) in International and European Politics from the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, UK. In addition, she completed her BA in Political Science-International Studies from North Carolina State University in 2005. Candice has over 10 years of professional experiences including as a Retirement Specialist with PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Project Manager for a CDC-funded research project out of the University of South Carolina. Candice acts as a school representative to institutional partners, and offered subject matter expertise to the India Institute of Public Policy and their publications on trade agreements in India. She represents Fuqua at P.I.M. and the annual NAFSA conference where she holds presentations and meets with strategic school partners, and is an active member of the Peace, Justice, & Citizen Diplomacy Special Interest Group of NAFSA. She also coordinates all aspects of the Exchange programs (incoming and outgoing), and supports GATEs/GCPs/FITs/GIS and other International Programs Office activities and programs at Fuqua.

After a 31-year career in the oil industry working in various executive-level positions in exploration and production with Unocal Corporation in the U.S. and Europe, Sax joined Duke University's Fuqua School of Business in 1987. In addition to teaching a small business consulting course (which has worked with over 200 organizations in the Triangle area), he teaches the Strategic Planning Practicum, and the Curricular Practical Training (CPT) course for all international students who do a summer internship in the U.S. He is a geophysicist by training, having graduated from St. Louis University with a degree in exploration geophysics. Sax has two sons and resides in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, with his wife, Peggy.
