A native of Durham, Samira has always been interested in learning about other cultures and languages. She has lived abroad in England, Germany, and Moldova, where she served as a Peace Corps Health Education Volunteer. She speaks Romanian and German. Samira holds a BA in International Studies and German from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, MI and MA in International Education from The George Washington University.

Carolyn Gilbert joined the Daytime MBA Program Office as a Student Affairs Project Specialist in the Spring of 2013 and moved into the Program Manager position with the IPO in Summer of 2015. Prior to coming to Fuqua, Carolyn served as part of the management team at Macy's, Inc. in the greater Detroit area. In 2008, she relocated to Raleigh and worked for a private, nonprofit agriculture firm building her experience in adminstration and event planning. Carolyn holds a BA from Michigan State University and an MBA from Campbell Univeristy.

Carolyn acts as a school representative to institutional partners and vendors, as well at the annual Partnership in International Management (PIM) conference and the annual NAFSA conference where she meets with strategic school partners. She is the primary lead on the Exchange programs (incoming and outgoing), and supports the GATEs programs and other activities and initiatives for the International Programs Office and Fuqua.

James (Jim) Emery is a Faculty Director for Fuqua's Client Consulting Practicum and an Adjunct Professor in the Management and Organizations department at Fuqua. His advisory role in the CPT program involves helping students plan their summer internship project papers and conducting the final review and approval of those project papers. Jim's research focuses on loyalty, trust and inspiration in leader-follower relationships and how educational experiences affect leadership development. He has also provided executive education and leadership coaching to for-profit corporations, non-profit organizations and government agencies over the past eight years. Jim received his PhD and MBA from Fuqua.
