We asked the alumni below, celebrating a birthday today, April 15, "Where are you now?" Here's what they said...

Hamid Azmi MBA ‘14

After graduation, I moved to New York to pursue a career in investment banking and have been in the city ever since. I’m currently a Vice President with Goldman Sachs. Prior to the pandemic, my job involved a lot of travel and I look forward to traveling again both for work and for fun! COVID has impacted our lives in many ways, but it has definitely given me the opportunity to spend more time with family. Last July we welcomed our son, and he’s now a very active 9-month old. When my wife (who I met in New York) and I are not working or watching the baby, we love to experience the food scene and the parks in New York. Happy birthday to my fellow Fuquans celebrating getting a year wiser in April!

Susan Haynes MHA ‘87

I am retired from my career in Healthcare Management, living with my husband Robert in Potomac, Maryland and Bonita Springs, Florida. The pandemic shut down most of my volunteer activities, but I still enjoy hiking, skiing, tennis, golf, reading and Pickleball. My children are grown, Joe in Denver and Kathryn in Tucson. I drove both out to their new homes, seeing the country along the way. Kathryn attended Duke for her DPT in Physical Therapy and it was a joy to get back on campus, enjoying the gardens and hearing Coach K speak at her graduation.  I am thankful for my healthy family and enjoying all that life has to offer. Happy Birthday to my fellow April celebrants!

Kent Holding MBA ‘90

Warsaw, Poland is currently home for my wife, 2 children and me. Our daughter graduates high school this year and will apply to study art at university, and our son has two more years, likely headed toward chemistry.  My wife retired a few years ago from a career in molecular biology, and after an enjoyable and challenging career as a CFO of start-ups, work outs and private equity ventures, I have retired to board roles, working with two small fintech businesses here. We did what we could to stay healthy and safe during the pandemic, and we definitely look forward to more contact with people in 2021.  It’s great to see Duke and the Fuqua School staying active, and I look forward to seeing all of you in person there sometime soon!

P.S. It was a pleasure recently to hear our classmate, Mark Reuss speak on a Washington Post podcast (March 11) about GM’s rapid moves to adopt battery power for all their products.
